# MyDeedSearch

> Copies of South African Deeds Office documents — title deeds, marriage contracts (ANC) and bond documents — ordered online and delivered by email.

MyDeedSearch retrieves documents and property information from all eleven South African Deeds Offices on behalf of the public, attorneys, estate agents, executors and auditors. Our core business is document copies; instant property searches are also available.

## Documents we supply

- **Title deed copy (Section 66)**: a full copy of a registered Deed of Transfer, marked for information purposes. Used for building plan applications, proof of ownership and checking restrictive conditions.
- **Certified title deed copy**: the same deed, certified and stamped by the Deeds Office registrar. Required by courts, the Master of the High Court and foreign authorities.
- **Marriage contract (ANC) copy (Section 66)**: a copy of a registered antenuptial contract. Antenuptial contracts are registered at the Deeds Office, not at Home Affairs.
- **Certified marriage contract copy (Section 70)**: the certified equivalent.
- **Bond document copy**: a copy of a registered mortgage bond.

Replacing a lost **original** title deed is not a copy order: it is an application under **Section 68** of the Deeds Registries Act, made by a conveyancing attorney.

## Searches we supply

- Property search: registered owner, property description, title deed number, purchase price and date, and registered bonds.
- Person or company search: what property a named person or company owns in a given Deeds Office, or in all of them.
- Property ownership report, transfer status tracking, Surveyor General diagrams and CIPC company searches.
- Instant self-service searches, delivered on screen in minutes. The instant search fee is deducted from a document copy ordered afterwards.

A "not found" result is a completed search and is charged for: confirming that no matching record exists is frequently the answer a customer needs.

## Coverage

All eleven Deeds Offices: Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Pietermaritzburg, Vryburg, King William's Town, Umtata, Kimberley and Bloemfontein. Customers do not need to know which office holds a property.

## What we are not

MyDeedSearch is a private service. We are not the Deeds Office and we are not a government department. Documents are retrieved from the official Deeds Registration System records.
